On a beautiful winter day in one of the most beautiful settings in the world, Carly and Jon committed their lives to one another in front of their family and friends. The weather was a very nice –4°C, which is amazing for the Alberta Rockies in mid January.
So much care and attention was put into this wedding held at Silvertip Resort in Canmore, Alberta. Carly’s gown was exquisite, and her bridesmaids unique designs complemented her perfectly. Jon and little Zane hung out with the guys getting ready, it was so sweet to see their matching suits hung side by side!
The preparations that morning were full of hilarity and fun. Carly and her girls were so calm, giggling and primping. Poor Jon is a shy guy, and not looking forward to a public display, but he aced it! I think that their first look prior to the ceremony helped. Jon was so excited to see his bride, and it was amazing to see their enjoyment of each other in those first moments.
Carly and Jon ensured their guests stayed warm with cozy blankets during the outdoor ceremony, we were well entertained by talented Mike and Julia.
The pivotal moment during a wedding ceremony – a groom watching his bride walk toward him. The look on Jon’s face is priceless, love, anticipation, joy. The look on Carly’s face as she looks back mirrors the same. Note the tear on Dad’s face, awww.
Carly scouted out her perfect location for her formals – the rail bridge in Canmore. It’s a photo favourite for a reason!
While I spent time with them photographing their engagement, I could so clearly see the love Jon and Carly have for each other. While photographing their wedding, I saw so much love throughout that room. That of Jon and his Mom, Barb for each other. That of Carly for her family. What really got me was the amazing, solid group of friends that they have. Those gorgeous ladies and gents that stood up for Carly and Jon are also their family. The connections are real, solid, and lasting. They are all so lucky to have each other.
The newleyweds danced the night away in their gorgeous location, surrounded by those they love the most.
For me, living a good and fulfilling life is all about love and connections. I feel so fortunate to have such a long standing and special connection to Jon and his family, and now to Carly. Their road together is sure to be so blessed by those they have around them, loving, supporting and helping them to make memories.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Lehman. xoxo
