My decision to join the Professional Photographers of Canada has been a pivotal decision for me. It’s not just about honing my talent, but also connecting with like-minded photographers who share the same passion for elevating the craft of quality photography. The sense of community and the opportunity to learn and grow alongside fellow professionals has truly enriched my journey as a photographer. Together, we inspire and push each other to reach new heights in our artistry.

What is PPOC National Salon?

The PPOC Annual Image National Salon is a juried exhibition that showcases the best of the best. Accredited members submit images that are judged by a panel of highly qualified judges. These judges must have a Craftsman of Photographic Arts or Master of Photographic Arts designation. They’ve also been trained extensively as jurors to enable them to effectively critique the submitted artwork. I take great pride in the abilities I’ve gained since I started my studio 21 years ago. Living in a rural area, I wanted to have expertise in different areas of photography to help me better serve my clients.

That’s only one of the reasons I photograph multiple niches. Truly, I love them and I’ve worked hard to be skilled at all of them. 💜 I wouldn’t photograph the following (and more), if I didn’t absolutely love them.

2024 National Salon Results

I recently entered four of my images into the annual Professional Photographers of Canada National Salon Competition.

All four of my images were successful, with Spring Bouquet receiving an award of merit, an incredible honour.

Each image requires me to use different skills and abilities to achieve something that I feel is truly noteworthy.

It’s by having these skills mastered that I can go the extra mile. Building a diverse portfolio doesn’t happen by chance. It requires dedication, open-mindedness, and a willingness to step out of comfort zones. I actively seek out opportunities to showcase a variety of perspectives and stories, ensuring that every client feels seen, heard, and valued.
