I’m firmly rooted in the prairies, but my heart soars when I’m in the Rockies. I’m so fortunate to be an Alberta Wedding Photographer who can revel in both settings with a couple hour drive. Now, I can visit the mountains, smack dab in the middle of the prairies with a 5 minute drive.
Just a short drive outside of Edmonton is one of the top wedding venues in the area. Obsidian Ridge is located in a peaceful country setting that brings the majesty of the Rockies to the endless blue skies of the prairies. I’m thrilled to be one of the premiere preferred photographers for this magnificent venue.
Jodi and Layson, the owners and designers, created Obsidian Ridge with the core values of peace, spirituality and community. There is an ethereal feeling of tranquility that descends on one when they enter, I don’t know a better way to describe it. It truly has to be seen to be believed.
Amphitheatre Marriage Space
The feature space of the venue is the amphitheatre. This space is crafted of mountain rock, hauled in from Revelstoke British Columbia. Layson is a landscape expert and his love for the space, as well as the quality of his craft and creativity are evident.
Couples looking for a truly unique and private space that feels like it’s nestled in the heart of Jasper or Banff will enjoy the completely private and quiet venue of Obsidian Ridge.
Full Service Facility
Obsidian Ridge is a full service facility, with the ability to start and end your perfect wedding day there. The venue has some cool and fun renovated trailers for hair and makeup, dressing and then camping overnight after dancing under the stars. Believe me, the stars at night in the country is a sight
The venue features a large, transparent canopy, all the better to enjoy the view while celebrating with those you love by your side. The tent will be exquisitely appointed with elegantly appointed decor to put the perfect finish to your day.

Romantic Walking Paths
Overhead soft lights, leaves crunching underfoot, the sound of the wind and your quiet conversation. The amazing walking path at Obsidian is a perfect spot for stolen kisses and to grab your photographer for some gorgeous images.
Limitless Photography Spaces
Jodi and Layson are designing a garden space, ideal for a simple ceremony and picture perfect images. It has a view of the amphitheatre, the ponds and infinity pool. This, along with the other perfectly designed areas provide ample space and opportunity for truly unique and exquisite images.
